• The February Edit | What’s on my face this month

    February 1

It’s been a really spendy month this February. I had some Birthday money and I have been buying things as and when I see a good deal on things I have been eyeing up. Sometimes for months.

This month I have been loving a combination of some of the new, and not so new.

    February 2

I have been trying out the Rimmel Match Perfection duo this February. So many people who I admire have been saying how much they enjoy this pairing so I wanted to give it go. I am always on the hunt for a decent drugstore foundation so this peeked my interest.

I received the Chantecaille mascara sample in the Space NK advent calendar and I have been so surprised at how lovely this is. It’s volumising, lengthening, fluff-fying (this is a word!) and  just the nicest smelling mascara I have ever used.

I also have been loving the cult favourite, Velvet Teddy by MAC. The tube you see below is from the Shadescents collection so show the colour of the lipstick on the top.  It’s a lovely browny, pinky, peachy nude.

    February 3

I have heard mixed review of the Sweet Peach Glow palette but I really have been enjoying it. The blush and the highlight definitely elevate this palette for me. I have been using the highlight more though as the next product has been my blush of choice.

    February 4

This lovely little palette of joy is the Too Faced Love Flush Palette. These are such beautiful blushes and every single one is great on my skin. They blend, they are build-able and they are so long lasting.

    February 6

Finally, the palette of choice this February has to be the Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance palette.

What can I say about this palette that hasn’t already been said? It’s just so warm and lovely and the shadows are perfect, smooth, slightly powdery but not too much, blendable and pigmented.

    February 7

My go to look this February.

Review | Makeup Addiction Cosmetics Flaming Love Palette

    Flaming 1

No your eyes are not deceiving you. You are looking at the most beautiful palette E.V.E.R. The Flaming Love Palette from Makeup Addiction.

I saw this on my friend Vicky’s instagram and I was absolutely bowled over by the shades and then, watching her channel on YouTube, I saw how freakin’ immense the colours were.

You get a cardboard palette with a cardboard sleeve in silver with a vintage wallpaper type print on it.

It has a a mirror on the inside and is quite heavy due to the magnet which holds the eyeshadow in. the eyeshadows as you can see are able to be removed from the packaging, which I actually really like.

The lid has magnets too so it closes and stays closed.

    Flaming 2

Not only are the shimmers such a soft lovely, almost wet texture and the mattes smooth and buttery they have NO FALL OUT. They have no powder kick up whatsoever.

I don’t know how they have done it but not only are they amazing texture the pigmentation is CRAZY good. I wish all my shadows were like this. The below picture is a light touch.

At first I thought the colours were random but they really aren’t. Sure there isn’t a cream matte in this but I don’t care a jot…I have 50 other palettes and a few singles that have the shade I need so it’s not an issue.

    Flaming 3

A long lasting shadow that blends beautifully on the eye. Enough said.

    The verdict

These are my favourite shadows of all time every. I have so many but I really do love these so much. The purple is the sort of cadburys shade I have been looking for and I am able to create amazing colourful but some neutral looks with this too.

    Flaming 4

I already purchased another palette since then and wouldn’t hesitate in buying singles if they sold them.

What do you think of this? Have you bought this?

Win | Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick and Naked Palette of choice

    Win Urban Decay 1

With the launch of the long awaited Vice Liquid Lipsticks from Urban Decay and me hitting another milestone in blogging I wanted to do a giveaway.

This is the first liquid lipstick offering in a matte formula from Urban Decay and they have quite a lot of claims!

    Win Urban Decay 2

    (Taken from Debenhams website)

This is Vice Liquid Lipstick by Urban Decay, a waterproof formula so life proof, it s not going ANYWHERE until you take it off. (Just imagine the possibilities). What makes Vice different? The high tech formula provides longer lasting wear with ZERO transfer. Like UD s original formula, Vice Liquid Lipstick lays down intensely pigmented color. And the comfortable, nondrying wear sets it apart from other liquid lipsticks. This formula holds heavy loads of pearls and glitter, so the shade lineup ranges from shimmery to matte. Special technology in the formula allows the pearl to float on top, giving UD s metallized shades the maximum amount of shimmer. Vice Liquid Lipstick comes in a clear tube (so you can see the shade inside) with a metallized gunmetal cap and gold accents. The extra-long, flocked paddle applicator provides a nice, even laydown of color every time.

I can’t wait to try these and they are definitely on my wishlist!

However I couldn’t do an Urban Decay giveaway without including an Urban Decay Naked palette of choice out of the following:

Review | The Sweet Peach Glow Palette

    sweet peach glow 1

To say the release of the Sweet Peach Glow palette was the most exciting thing to happen this year is an understatement and now I have used it for a few weeks I want to tell you about how I feel.

This is the face palette that pairs with my favourite eyeshadow palette of 2016, the Sweet Peach palette from Too Faced.

It was exclusive at Debenhams but isn’t currently on the site, whether it has sold out or they are awaiting restock I am unsure but keep an eye out on their social media as they always update there.

Product description (from the Too Faced Website)

Sweet Peach Glow illuminating, blushing and bronzing palette is infused with the juicy scent and skin-loving essence of peach to give your face a radiant natural peach glow.

    • Infused with the skin-loving essence of peach
    • Smells like peaches
    • Soft blush, bronzer and highlighter that complement all skin tones

As with all other Too Faced products the packaging is cute! It’s a metal case with a magnetic closure. It has a beautiful ombre peach design and complements the original sweet peach palette

The texture of the powders are smooth with no fall out. They aren’t the softest powders but actually I prefer that so it doesn’t create any ‘dust’ like other softer powder products.

This does have the same peachy scent as the eyeshadow palette but it is less powerful. You have to get your nose right in to the powder to smell it. Some people may enjoy that as the eyeshadow palette is REALLY strong, you can smell it outside the packing but that’s not the case for this palette.

I will talk about each shade so it’s easier:

Bronzer: This is a shimmery (but not glittery) bronzer. It is SO light. In fact on deeper skintones I think it would be a highlight rather than a bronzer.

Blush: A Beauty sheeny peach colour. This again has a glow to it (without the glitter) and gives a lovely peach flush to the cheeks. Again if you’re darker than me (and I use Ivory foundation) you may not be able to see it so well on your skin.

Highlighter: A really good champagne highlighter for light skin tones. It may be a tiny bit icy on darker skin tones but it works lovely on mine. It’s a lovely sheen, no glitter in sight. It’s not as vibrant as Champage pop for example but it really is great for every day and that lovely natural glow.

All the powders are buildable though so they can intensify.

    Final thoughts

Although this is beautiful for me I don’t think it would work on medium to deep skin tones as it claims. I would love to hear from those of you who bought it who are of a deeper tone and are able to use it though.

I am really happy I have it though as it fits in well with my collection and it does work for me. It would be nice if Too Faced made 2 other shades for different skin tones, I think it would do really well.

Have you bought this? What did you think?

Review | Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack

    bubble tea 1

Your eyes don’t deceive you. This is a bubble tea sleeping pack that looks like bubble tea! Etude house  is a well known korean beauty brand and I wanted to do a review of the bubble tea sleeping pack.

It’s no secret that I am really in love with sleeping masks, oils, gels, serums, you name it, if you can sleep with it on your face I will love it!

When I saw this cute little cup of tea in TK Maxx I didn’t pick it up to start with, in fact I must have picked it up, put it back, picked it up again, put it back again, picked it up again, etc and FINALLY, when it was reduced by 50% I decided to buy it.

At first I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the product to be honest and I really thought I would find it unsuccessful, however I was completely wrong.

The consistency as you can see is gel like, which is why I loved the Algenist Splash mask. You apply it after you have done your evening skincare routine and then you just sleep.

    bubble tea 2

When you wake in the morning you will find your skin is plump but you do need to wash your face. It isn’t as good as the Algenist in my opinion but it’s so close! Definitely worth the money.

There isn’t a scent to this really, maybe a mild clean scent, and the texture is cold on the skin, which is nice after you have done your skincare routine. Cooling and relaxing.

The little bubbles in the bottom are meant to be scooped up with the cream coloured gel and popped to make the hydration more intense but honestly – they don’t add anything.

I only have one gripe, and it’s the same with ANY product that comes in a pot is that it’s in a pot, which I always dislike in skincare products. Yes, my hands are clean but I still don’t like it. Maybe it’s just a personal thing.

Other than that, I do love this and will probably finish it all. Buying another won’t be so easy as it is a Korean brand so I will probably keep trying some others.

Have you got a night time favourite? Tried any sleeping packs you think I should try?
