If you’ve been hiding under a rock you will have completely missed the new’ish kid on the social media block. TikTok.
As someone who is older than Gen Z and scraping millennial status (what on earth am I as I am actually not a boomer either…eurgh) I always thought that TikTok was not the place for me.
However, lockdown has made many of us do things we never thought we would and low and behold, I have ended up creating a space where I have flourished.
I joined on the 23rd March and by the end of June I had accumulated 50,000 followers. Yup. Just like that.
I’m not saying it has been easy, it hasn’t. I have created a lot of content but at only 15 seconds a pop, it isn’t the same as the 15-30 minute videos I was producing for YouTube.
So I am here to announce what is happening as a direct result of this superfast take off of my TikTok page and I wanted to make things more cohesive with who I am, what I am about and really make everything fit.
What’s new?
1. XL Brand
I of course will continue to be Leah XL but the brand is now just ‘XL’ as reflected in the new branding (the lips, cup, glasses and of course curls with glasses). Leah XL has it’s own logo on the blog but the branding will all now say XL. This means XL will be put with different things, XL Travel being the next thing but it will be how I identify anything moving forward. That is why #XLFam is so important.LeahXL Blog now houses all the information they will need. Merch, Meet the Mods, XLFam Ethos and much much more. I like to try and keep everything in one place.

2. Brand Merchandise Launch.
T-shirts, Hoodies from XS to 5XL will be available from Topsy Curvy. Also large Tote bags will be available. Worldwide. The links will be available on the merch page. The other merch is drop shipped through printify. I wanted to make everything better value for money for people so this is the best way.
3. Radio Show.
As of the end of July a weekly 1 hour show will be hosted by me which is similar to things I talk about on TikTok – the show will be going through Crown and Country radio and will there will be special guests announced soon.
4. XL Travel Guides
In line with TikTok, YouTube, the blog and all other social media.
5. #XLFam
Values and Ethos. The XLFam to me is the strongest community we have. We have over 3 million views on TikTok and I would like to really grow the hashtag as much as possible across all platforms. I would like this to be a place where people can feel safe.
