Ciate London Liquid Velvet Sass Pot

LeahXL/ Makeup

Ciate 1

Recently I was decluttering my makeup collection and came across this sample size of the Ciate London Liquid Velvet in the shade Sass Pot.

I got this in a Sephora favourites set and I hadn’t tried it but I was so sceptical. I hadn’t really read or seen any reviews of the liquid velvets or even much of the Ciate makeup so I wanted to give it a try.

Packaging

The packaging is pretty basic, black lid, clear bottle, but it’s ok. There isn’t much you can do better than show the shade in the tube.

The applicator those is tear shaped and sort of flat which holds the product a lot better.

Texture

The texture of this is moussey which I thought would mean it wouldn’t dry down but it is actually a lovely comfortable stay put colour. It isn’t transfer proof at all but that’s ok.

Scent

There is a sweet scent which isn’t as strong as others and I appreciate that. I don’t understand why brands continue to put such a sweet sickly cake batter scent to their products. It can be so off putting.

Longevity

This is what surprised me the most…it stayed put. FOR AGES! Even though it isn’t transfer proof it does stick around. If I had to compare it to another liquid lipstick it would be the Bare Minerals Gen Nudes ones or the Ofra ones.

Colour

Sass Pot would not have been my first choice but I actually do love a bold lipstick. When you have dark hair and wear glasses sometimes it takes a statement lip to really give your look a boost.

Overall thoughts

I am really please that I decided to try this as I would like to try more from the range now. So far though I have yet to find a colour in the Liquid Velvet range that peaks my interest.

Have you tried any? Any colours I should be looking out for?

My wife generally prefers more muted tones, but I think she would like this colour.

Now that colour is vibrant! Just look at it, it is awesome to hear that it lasted a long time as well, I may just have to give something from the range a try (though I’m so not brave enough to go quite this bold.

I never wear lipstick, I have no idea why really, I just never have. I love seeing a bold lip on others though, this hot pink looks amazing!

I love the colour! Ciate as a makeup brand is so under appreciated! People only tend to stick with its nail colours but even their eyeliner is really good!

I’m going to be honest I didn’t even know Ciate did liquid lipsticks but I like that it’s longlasting x

I hate it when products are far too sweet. It’s offputting and it’s good to hear that this is more subtle.

Woweee! That’s a bold colour but it actually looks great against your skin tone! We like that it’s got a mousse feel to it! Might try and hunt it down as we like that it stays put for ages x

New brand to me, and not a great lipstick wearer, but always nice to know which brand people to recommend. The colour is rather lovely, and it sounds like a good choice overall.

What a stunning colour! You really suit it with your dark hair, although I always think you look stunning! I don’t know if I could pull this colour off with blonde hair, but I am going to check out all the shades in the range xxx

I get a bit jealous of brightly coloured lipsticks – I wish I could wear them, but they just look a bit ridiculous on me! Love admiring them on other people though. x

This is such a good colour on you. I’ve not tried any of the ciate make up or read any reviews before this one. I’d be willing to try this but for me id want a more berry toned but I guess I sets like the one you had you don’t get a choice. Keep wearing it lovely xx

Sometimes I think I must live under a rock as I never knew Ciate did make up, thought it was just nail polish. But this does sound pretty good and I love the colour on you
