As of yesterday MAC is now part of the great line up on Look Fantastic. To celebrate this, I thought I would bring you my top 5 MAC products.
5. MAC Prep & Prime Fix +
I was so sceptical about this product. I couldn’t see what this would do that was different to other sprays but I have to admit, I find it to be a staple in my makeup collection.
I don’t use this to set my makeup though, I use it as it says on the bottle, to fix it. Once I have put on my powder products on my face I like to use a fixing spray to blend my makeup to look more airbrushed, dewy and soft.
I find this to be a great makeup refresher too. I have a mini one which I like to take in my handbag and use this to reawaken my makeup during busy days.
Spraying this on a brush prior to putting on eyeshadows, especially the blue brown pigment which just missed out on my top 5, and any highlighter will make it so intense.
4. Lipstick Velvet Teddy
I wasn’t going to give in to the hype, I really wasn’t but I kept seeing it on people and asking it what it was and the answer was always the same ‘It’s Velvet Teddy’. The thing about Velvet Teddy is it looks so different on everyone. Some it pulls brown, some mauve and some pink. It’s such an unusual product. This is a matte lipstick and actually I would say quite drying but I am ok with that. I keep my lips in shape as I love matte lipsticks so it isn’t too bad for me.
3. Soft & Gentle Mineralised Skin Finish
If you haven’t already see me rave about this on my blog then a full review is here.
This product really was a game changer for me on how I perceive MAC in general. Before this product I hadn’t got on with any MAC product and I was about to give up when I decided to buy this to try.
There is something about this product that will always have a place in my collection and heart. It is a fabulous highlighter and every time I remember to put it in my weekly makeup basket I remember how much I love it.
2. MAC 217 blending brush
What can I say about this brush apart from WHY was I so late to the party buying it?
I got this in March this year which for a beauty blogger I should be ashamed of.
This brush is probably the only eyeshadow brush you will ever need. It’s so versatile!
It’s dense enough to add pigment to the eye but fluffy enough to blend. I feel so controlled with my application using this brush and to top it off it is really soft. I have many eyeshadow brushes and some a similar shape to this but none as soft. If I got rid of all my brushes tomorrow and just had this I would be happy. In fact, it’s about time I bought another one.
1. MAC Warm Neutral x 15 palette
I am an eyeshadow junkie, especially palettes so it’s no wonder I had one in pole position!
Admittedly, all my single MAC shadows I really didn’t get on with and I was about to give up on them altogether, however, I kept seeing Karen from Mrs Gingers Channel talk about this palette and showing the multiple looks she made, which were always so stunning and I really trust her judgement so I decided to treat myself.
Boy was I pleased I did.
One of the things I am so guilty of is going by the finger swatch of a shadow and I have since realised that that really doesn’t mean anything.
You can have a fantastic finger swatch and the shadow not work at all on your eye or you can have a dud finger swatch but it blends with the right amount of pigment on your lid. That is what this palette was for me.
I was so underwhelmed when I swatched it in the store but I decided that based on the looks I was seeing with it on I should at least try it.
Every single look I create with this palette I love. I love every single shadow and I have used them all. There isn’t one that I haven’t used whilst creating a look and it’s so balanced in my opinion.
If you were a newbie with eyeshadow and you wanted to try something that would be easy to use, fool proof looks in every use and wearable by all then I would definitely recommend this product.
So there you have it. My top 5 MAC products.
I do have many more but these were the ones I think would be fantastic for all beauty lovers and those just trying MAC for the first time.
What are your top 5?
MAC is now available at Look Fantastic here
Velvet Teddy and Soft & Gentle are two of my favourites. Always need to have their Prep + Prime Highlighter it’s a great tool. x
Velvet teddy looks like such a beautiful colour – it would be great for summer, but also A/W. I love MAC products.
For me it has to be the MAC blending brush! 🙂 x
I just love the entire MAC range. I must have loads of their products and keep buying more.
I have loads of MAC products, i love their lipsticks, i also have velvet teddy too
Some great picks here for your favourite MAC products – who doesn’t love Velvet Teddy lipstick? 🙂
My mummy doesn’t own a lot of MAC products, just some very dark gothic lippy and liner. The neutral platte looks nice and practical and the MAC blending brush sounds life a game changer!
Brilliant choices! I’m not much of a MAC girl, but they definitely have some iconic staples like Velvet Teddy lippie. x
I’m still yet to try the Prep & Prime Fix + but I do love my soft and gentle powder and the cult classic 217 brush x
Eleven teddy looks like such a classic colour, timeless
To this day I still haven’t tried any MAC products! I love the colour of this lipstick though!
This is a good selection of beauty products. I’ve heard only good things about the primer fix.
I’ve got a few MAC lipsticks, including Velvet Teddy, but I haven’t tried any of their other products. I love the look of that eye palette though!
That shade of lipstick is perfect for me! I have tried the prep & prime from mac and a few other bits but these all look great so I may have to return and try some more!
I love the colour of that lipstick. Fairly dark, but not too gothic at the same time.
great choices. I only own one Mac product and that is a lipstick, but the colour doesn’t suit me. I have heard that velvet teddy is a big favourite of a lot of people
I’ve not tried many Mac products, so this is a great way for me to explore the brand some more.
I love my MAC palette it’s custom made & I have 2 of the times 9, they’re really good too, I think you’d like them. One of my biggest big bears is people referring to fix plus as a setting spray, it isn’t, it is exactly what you use it for, fixing, giving a flawless finish etc I’m so glad you mentioned it haha ???? I love soft & gentle too it’s so pretty & I have 3 217 brushes, my oldest is around 8 years old so they do last well. Great post lovely ???? Xxxxx
That skin finish sounds like such a good product, will definitely check this out.
