Makeup revolutions latest release (let’s admit it, they probably have newer by now!) is the gradient highlighters and the rainbow highlighter and I decided to purchase all of them.
It’s been a while since I ordered from Makeup Revolution but as soon as these were released I knew I wanted to try them
The Rainbow Highlighter
I already have a rainbow highlighter from I heart makeup, a sister brand to Makeup Revolution in the Unicorn Hearts but I really wanted to have this to see how it compares.
Weirdly – I love this more than the other one. I don’t know why. I feel like it’s not as blue when all swatched together which I feel he other one is.
So far I have used the pink and yellow on my cheekbones and the purple, blue and green on the inner corner of the eye and in the centre of the lid for a halo eye.
The texture is so soft and lovely and I actually am very impressed for the price.
The packaging is plastic but has a holographic design but to be honest I don’t really mine. It could have just been black and I wouldn’t mind. I just like that you can see through it.
The Gradient Highlighters
Let’s be honest here. These are blushes. They are no highlighters.
The lighter ends of the Peach Mood and the Sunlight Mood ones could potentially pass for highlighters but they are not shiny…more natural.
I also want to address the colour name of Peach Mood and how it’s purple…never been near a peach as you look at it. However, so far I have actually decided there is some sort of magic in it as on the cheeks it does show up peachy. Or it could have been some residue on the brush.
I love all of these as blushes. They are all gorgeous!
In fact, for me, these are the standout (although so many people will buy just the rainbow highlight for the novelty). I am in LOVE with these and have been using them every day since I received them. The fact they have a sheen instead of a shine really makes them special. I find they are smooth, buildable and perfect on the high parts of the cheeks.
Have you tried these yet? What are your thoughts?
