For the first time in forever I actually have a decent collection of perfumes and this year I even have what I would describe as Summer Scents.
I wanted to share with you (dear reader) my top 5 scents I have been loving for this season.
These to me are all equal in my top 5 as they are all so different so hopefully there is something for everyone here.
This perfume was my wedding day perfume and I absolutely adore it.
Top notes: rose and peach.
Heart: amber and musk.
Base: patchouli and sandalwood
Floral scents are usually my favourite, one of my all time favourite perfumes is Stella by Stella McCartney which is a very strong rose scent however this definitely is lighter than that. I also love Amber in perfumes but this isn’t as strong as most perfumes that have amber and musk at the heart. You’d be forgiven to think it wasn’t present at all.
It’s not too overpowering and it tends to be a lovely every day perfume. Really good for the office and great, of course, for weddings.
(note. I have lost the lid…I hate that I couldn’t find it but I couldn’t not share it with you because of that!)
The price of this perfume for 100ml is what you would expect from your designer perfumes (Chanel, Dior etc) and it lasts for a really long time. I was worried that having it so long it would have gone off but it hasn’t.
This is such a kitch perfume, great price and an unusual scent.
Top notes: grapefruit zest, sour cherry, pink pepper, crisp apple, pineapple and rhubarb.
Heart: orange blossom, peony and jasmine.
Base: vanilla, candy floss, sensual musk, amber crystals.
It has a sweetness to it but it also have a depth to it I can’t really describe. It’s nothing like my normal floral perfumes but I actually really do love this perfume. It’s so stong, you can put it on in the morning and you still can smell it by the evening.
Admittedly I was excited that it had florals at the heart of it but my favourite thing is that little flicker of candy floss you get. Really nostalgic.
This is a really good value for money perfume and by all accounts is the fastest selling perfume at the fragrance shop.
Had I not been sent this to review I probably wouldn’t have tried this as it’s the most expensive but boy is it fantastic.
Top notes: Black Pepper, Bergamot, and Neroli from Tunisia
Heart: Sambac Jasmine, Sweet Clover, Rose Water, and Orange Blossom
Base: Teakwood, Sandalwood, and Musk
I honestly feel like this is the freshest perfume I have ever worn and the compliments are thick and fast when I wear this. It’s so unusual but at the same time you feel like you should have smelt this before.
It’s powerful but not over powering. It’s fresh but complex. It’s floral but not flowery. It’s everything I have ever wanted in a perfume but not realised. Great perfume and with a price to match. I will be absolutely gutted when this runs out. The only stockist at the moment is Libertys…hello? Says it all really!
This is the only Eau De Toilette in my top 5 and admittedly it’s the quirkiest packaging of them all!
It’s exactly how you would expect the scent to be. Fresh, fun, floral.
Top notes: Fresh pink grapefruit, black currant, lily of the valley
Heart: rose, pomegranate and pink hyacinth
Base: musk, ambrosian and cedar.
If you like Cacharel Amor Amor and other fruity floraly young scents you will definitely like this. It’s one I would wear if I wanted to relive my youth.
The newest perfume in my collection and I am IN LOVE!
This is summer for me and there is one main reason for that. Tomato Leaves.
Top notes: tomato leaves, mandarin, violet leaves
Heart: Plumeria, Tuberose, Violet
Base: Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Musks
TOMATO LEAVES! I feel like no one has ever done that before?!? Why????
The scent of fresh tomatoes growing in a greenhouse in the UK Summer time is just a perfect metaphor for summer and to bottle it and sell it, well she’s a genius!
I love this perfume so much. It’s so fresh and gorgeous and unique. It’s hands down my most exciting perfume purchase so far.
Stella McCartney so far has not got it wrong when it comes to scents. They are all so quintessentially British. I always have fond memories of British summertimes so maybe that’s why I like this so much.
What are you go to scents this summer? Any recommendations?
